Who owns the article?

Authors retain full copyright over their work. By publishing in ESSD, authors grant IEREK Press the non-exclusive right to publish, host, and archive the article in its final form. This means the journal can publish and distribute the work, but the author remains its owner.

How is the article licensed?

All articles published in ESSD are released under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This means anyone may freely read, download, copy, distribute, and adapt the work for any purpose — including commercial use — provided the original authors and source are properly credited.

What can authors do with their published work?

Authors are encouraged to:

• Post their accepted manuscript (not the final published PDF) to institutional repositories or personal websites before and after publication
• Share their work through academic networks and platforms
• Reuse their published work in books, reports, or other publications

When sharing published work, authors must acknowledge ESSD as the original publication venue and include the article's DOI.

What about third-party content?

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use any third-party material — including figures, tables, images, or data — included in their manuscript. Evidence of these permissions must be provided upon request by the Editorial Office.

What authors confirm at submission?

By submitting to ESSD, authors confirm that:

• The work is original and entirely their own
• The work has not been previously published
• The work is not under consideration elsewhere
• The work does not infringe on any third-party rights
• The work contains no unlawful content
